2023 Tata Nexon Facelift: Base ‘Smart’ variant in an in-depth walkaround [Video]

The 2023 Tata Nexon facelift has taken the entire country by storm. Customers are queuing up in front of the Tata dealerships for this newly launched sub-compact SUV. The base Smart variant of this model starts at Rs 8.10 lakh, and according to the company, it is one of the most popular variants. The waiting periods for this variant are currently at 6-10 weeks. Recently, a video walkaround of the Tata Nexon facelift’s base Smart variant has been shared online.

The in-depth walkaround video of the new Nexon facelift base Smart variant has come courtesy of Anubhav Chauhan. It starts off with the presenter introducing the variant and mentioning its price and engine specifications. He states that the base Smart variant comes at a starting price of Rs 8.09 lakh (ex-showroom). Next up, he informs that the base variant gets a single drivetrain option of a 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol engine that makes around 118 bhp and 170 Nm of torque. This variant only gets a single 5-speed manual gearbox.

After the introduction, the presenter shows the key for the car, mentioning that it does not come equipped with a remote. It only gets manual central locking from the driver side door handle. Moving on, he shows the front-end design of the new facelifted Nexon. Even with the base variant of this highly popular sub-compact SUV, the company provides LED DRLs and reflector-based LED headlights. The split headlamp design of the new Nexon looks very modern, says the presenter in the video.

He then shows the side profile of the Nexon facelift Smart variant, adding that it does not get painted side-view mirrors and door handles. Additionally, he states that the base Smart variant also misses out on wheel covers and alloy wheels. The good thing, however, is that the base variant also gets the 16-inch steel wheel set-up. The claddings on the side are also finished in matte black. Lastly, he shows the rear end of the vehicle and states it gets the new Y-shaped LED taillights; however, the rear middle portion does not glow in this variant like the top-spec models.

Moving on, the presenter adds that the vehicle gets a 44-liter fuel tank, and after this, he shows the interior of the Smart variant of the new Nexon facelift. Upon opening the door, the presenter gives a detailed look at the interior. The base Smart variant comes equipped with an all-black fabric upholstery. The variant gets hard plastics all-around, and it misses out on a lot of creature comforts and features.

However, given its price point, it gets a few essential features like a manual air conditioning system, 6 airbags, a semi-digital instrument gauge cluster, and a two-spoke steering wheel with a glowing Tata logo. Additionally, the presenter in the video also adds that the quality of the new facelifted Nexon’s base variant is better than the old model. He then shows the rear seats and seating layout of the Tata Nexon facelift.
