Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to launch the next-generation Swift and Dzire in India. Both of these models are among the top-selling cars in the country, and the brand has extensively redesigned them to extend their dominance in the market. Exterior Design
The 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift will boast a modernized exterior design, featuring brand-new LED headlights with L-shaped LED DRLs, a redesigned front grille with black surrounds, and a refreshed front bumper. From the side profile, the Swift exudes a more muscular stance, characterized by a strong shoulder line running from the front to the back. The traditional hidden rear door handles have been replaced with more conventional door handles equipped with request sensors on both front doors. Additionally, the high-gloss black-finished C-pillar adds a floating roof aesthetic. As for the design details of the new Dzire, like the outgoing Swift, it will be based on the new 2024 Swift. However, to differentiate the two siblings, the Dzire will get a more subtle yet sophisticated-looking front end. Apart from this, it will utilize the same sleek new LED headlights and fog lights and bonnet. Color Variants
The 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift will be available in a range of color options to suit the taste of Indian car buyers. Monotone shades include Frontier Blue Pearl Metallic, Burning Red Pearl Metallic, Pure White Pearl, Premium Silver Metallic, Star Silver Metallic, and Super Black Pearl. Meanwhile, Dual-tone options, featuring a blacked-out roof, include Cool Yellow Metallic, Flame Orange Pearl Metallic, and Pure White Pearl Metallic. Interior Features
Coming to the interior of the new 2024 Maruti Suzuki, the popular hatchback will come with a much more premium layout and design. The new 2024 Swift will get a new layered dashboard design, reminiscent of the Baleno and Fronx. The main highlight of the new interior will be the 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Just underneath it, there will be sleek rectangular AC vents to replace the old circular ones, and a new automatic climate control system borrowed from other Maruti siblings will be seen. The seats have been redesigned for improved support and sport a black fabric upholstery with white stitching and will look a lot more sporty.
As for the interior of the new 2024 Maruti Dzire, it will come with a similar interior as the Swift but will get a few differentiating design elements. Safety Features
The 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift and Dzire will come with an array of standard features. Most likely they will come equipped with dual front airbags, anti-lock braking system (ABS), and electronic brake force distribution (EBD) and other essential features. The Japanese market Swift comes equipped with ADAS features including Dual Sensor Brake Support II (DSBS II), Lane Keep Assist (LKA), Driver Monitoring System (DMS), Lane Departure Prevention (LDP), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR), Blind Spot Monitor (BSM), and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert (RCTA). However, most likely the company will not be offering these in India to keep the costs low.
Powertrain Options
Coming to the powertrain side of things, both the 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift and Dzire will share the same all-new 1.2-liter, 3-cylinder petrol engine, known as the Z12 engine. This engine, part of Suzuki’s Z Series, replaces the outgoing 1.2-liter, 4-cylinder K-Series engine. The Z12 engine prioritizes enhanced volumetric efficiency and torque. And as per the reports, it will be delivering an impressive mileage of around 28-30 kmpl. While the Japanese market Swift also offers a hybrid system and 4WD versions, the Indian variant is expected to come with the Z12 engine, although specific power outputs and fuel efficiency figures are yet to be disclosed.
Launch Details
Maruti Suzuki enthusiasts can expect the launch of the 2024 Swift and Dzire together in India around the end of this month or March-April. The company has successfully debuted the new Swift in the Japanese market. Production is slated to commence soon in India, and the company has anticipated a monthly production target of around 20,000 units. At the moment, the exact launch date is yet to be confirmed.
