4 new car launching in August 2023: From Tata Punch iCNG to Hyundai Creta Adventure Edition

The month of August this year is set to witness an exciting lineup of new car launches in the Indian automotive market. Leading automakers like Tata Motors, Hyundai India, and Toyota Kirloskar Motor are gearing up to introduce four unique models, each offering distinctive features and upgrades to cater to the evolving needs and preferences of Indian consumers. Tata Punch CNG

Tata Motors is all set to expand its CNG-powered vehicle lineup with the introduction of the much-awaited Tata Punch CNG. The micro-SUV has already created quite a buzz since its showcase at the Auto Expo 2023. The Punch CNG retains the design of its petrol-powered counterpart, boasting a sleek and contemporary appearance. Under the bonnet, the CNG variant of the Tata Punch will be powered by the efficient 1.2-liter three-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine. The Punch CNG is expected to deliver 77 bhp of power and 97 Nm of torque, coupled with a 5-speed manual transmission as standard.

One of its significant advantages over competitors is the option to start directly in CNG mode, providing a seamless and hassle-free driving experience. The highlight of the Punch CNG is its unique dual-cylinder setup for the CNG tanks, cleverly placed beneath the boot compartment floor. This innovative arrangement allows the vehicle to retain practical and usable boot space, which is often compromised in other CNG-powered cars. With two 30-liter CNG tanks, the Punch CNG will boast a maximum capacity of 60 liters, offering an impressive driving range.

Hyundai Creta Adventure Edition

Hyundai Motor India is all set to unveil the Adventure Edition of its immensely popular mid-size SUV, the Creta. This new forthcoming limited edition will feature a distinctive ‘Ranger Khaki’ color option with a dual-tone finish, including a contrasting black roof. The Adventure Edition’s unique appearance will be further accentuated by blacked-out elements on the front and rear bumper garnishes, roof rails, wing mirrors, and alloy wheels, adding a sense of ruggedness and exclusivity.

Inside the cabin, the Creta Adventure Edition will boast all-black interiors, creating a premium and adventurous ambiance. With contrast stitching on the upholstery and Adventure Edition insignias on the seat headrests and door sills, Hyundai aims to elevate the overall feel of the cabin.

Hyundai Alcazar Adventure Edition

Not to be outdone, Hyundai will also introduce the Adventure Edition of its recently launched 7-seater SUV, the Alcazar. Building on the success of the Alcazar, the Adventure Edition will feature the same ‘Ranger Khaki’ dual-tone color option with blacked-out elements, providing a sporty and adventurous appeal.

Inside, the Alcazar Adventure Edition will offer a premium all-black interior with contrast stitching and Adventure Edition insignias, elevating the cabin’s aesthetics and exclusivity.

Mechanically, the Alcazar Adventure Edition will continue to be powered by the reliable 1.5-liter turbo-petrol and diesel engines, offering excellent performance and efficiency. Like the Creta Adventure Edition, the Alcazar Adventure Edition will cater to families seeking an SUV with a sense of adventure and style.

Toyota Rumion

Toyota Kirloskar Motor, in collaboration with Maruti Suzuki, is gearing up to launch the Toyota Rumion, based on the popular Maruti Suzuki Ertiga MPV. Set to make its debut in the Indian market, the Rumion aims to provide customers with a more affordable alternative in the MPV segment, sitting just below the highly successful Innova lineup. The Rumion features minor styling tweaks to differentiate it from its Maruti Suzuki counterpart. However, the focus remains on providing a comfortable and spacious cabin, identical to the Ertiga. Buyers can expect a well-designed dashboard layout and a comprehensive equipment list, catering to the needs of modern-day families.

Under the bonnet, the Rumion will share the same powertrain as the Maruti Ertiga, a tried-and-tested 1.5-liter petrol engine generating 103 horsepower and 137 Nm of torque. This powerplant ensures ample performance for both city commutes and long drives, offering the choice between a five-speed manual transmission or a smooth-shifting six-speed torque converter automatic. Toyota is also expected to introduce a CNG powertrain option for the Rumion, aligning with the increasing demand for eco-friendly alternatives.
