The first and most highly anticipated model from Tata Motors is the Punch EV micro-SUV. The popular SUV Punch’s electric iteration will most likely be launched in the coming months. From the outside, the model will look pretty much like the outgoing ICE model. However, its recently spotted test mule revealed that it will get some design updates inspired by the newly launched Nexon facelift. It will also come equipped with a new set of alloy wheels and a 10.25-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system.

According to reports, in terms of drivetrain, this EV micro-SUV will come powered by the same Ziptron technology that also powers the Tata Tiago EV and Nexon EV. Currently, the Tata Tiago EV comes equipped with a 24 kWh battery pack that delivers an MIDC-certified range of 315 km. There is also a smaller 19.2 kWh battery pack available, which offers an MIDC-certified range of 250 km. Most likely, these numbers will also be retained by the Tata Punch EV.

Tata Harrier EV

It is believed that soon after the launch of the Punch EV, Tata Motors will launch the Harrier EV, which is the electrified iteration of its highly popular mid-size SUV Harrier. The company showcased a realistic concept of this vehicle at the 2023 Auto Expo. And most recently, a test mule of the model was also spotted testing on the roads. According to the company, it will boast a dual electric motor setup, which will offer an all-wheel drive configuration.

In terms of the EV’s design, it will look mostly like the all-new Harrier facelift, which gets the new split headlamp design with a full-width LED bar. The Harrier EV, however, will get an enclosed grille. While specific powertrain and battery details have not been revealed, Shailesh Chandra, MD of Tata Motors, has stated that it will come with a range of 500 km with a 60 kWh battery pack. Currently, the exact launch dates for this SUV are unknown, but we could be seeing it during 2024.

Tata Harrier Petrol

During a recent media discussion, Tata Motors MD Shailesh Chandra also revealed an important piece of information. He stated that the petrol variant of the Harrier will come after the launch of the Harrier EV. Just like the Harrier facelift and the upcoming Harrier EV, most likely, it will look similar from the outside and the inside. The only major difference will be the new petrol powertrain.

According to reports, the Harrier petrol will be launched with a 1.5-litre TGDi turbo petrol engine showcased by the company at the 2023 Auto Expo. According to the company, this four-cylinder turbo engine will be able to generate a maximum power of 170 bhp at 5,000 rpm. It will also be able to generate a maximum torque output of 280 Nm between 2,000-3,500 rpm. At the moment, no exact dates have been provided for the launch of the Harrier petrol.

Tata Safari Petrol

Coming to the next SUV on the launch roster, it is the Safari petrol. Most likely, this SUV as well will be launched soon after the launch of the Harrier petrol. In terms of design, it will boast the same design as the facelifted model both from the exterior and the interior. As for the petrol engine itself, it will be the exact same as the Harrier petrol, which is the above-mentioned 1.5-litre TGDi petrol engine.

Tata Curvv

The Curvv concept, which was shown earlier this year at the Auto Expo, is one of the most hotly anticipated vehicles from Tata Motors. The company is in the very late stages of its development at the moment, and new test mules are getting spotted every other day now. As per the reports, the Curvv ICE and Curvv EV both will be launched in the first quarter of 2024. The Curvv will be one of the most unique offerings from the brand as it will boast a coupe-like SUV design and will be based on the Nexon platform.

In terms of the drivetrain, Tata Curvv is expected to come equipped with Nexon’s 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol engine and 1.5-liter diesel engine as standard options. Most likely, the company will also be offering the new 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine as an option. As mentioned, the Curvv will also be launched as an EV and will be based on Tata’s Gen 2 platform. Reports have suggested that it will be offering the same drivetrain as the Nexon Long Range but will get a 500 km range on a single full charge.
