Bengaluru Man Rides Ather Rizta Electric Scooter Instead Of Horse To His Wedding

The Bangalore-based electric scooter manufacturer Ather Energy recently launched its family scooter, Rizta, in India. Ever since its launch, it has become extremely popular in the country. It has become such a fan favorite that recently a man replaced his wedding horse with an Ather Rizta. The video and pictures of this groom riding his Ather Rizta to his wedding have become viral on the internet. Ather Energy’s Founders Tarun Mehta and Swapnil Jain have also shared this unique event.

Groom Swaps Horse for Ather Rizta

Tarun Mehta, one of the founders of Ather Energy, shared this post on his X (formerly Twitter) profile. He shared it with the caption, “So this happened last weekend! Darshan wanted to make his baraat entry on Rizta and we had to make it happen for his grand entrance. And, why not? Rizta is all about family.”

In this post, the groom was seen sitting on his Ather Rizta, entirely dressed up for his wedding. He was accompanied by a lot of his relatives. All of them were seen dancing to the beats of the Dhols. In the picture, it can also be noted that the Ather Rizta has also been decorated to make it look like the chariot for the groom.

Ather Rizta

The Rizta is the newest electric scooter from Ather Energy. It has been launched to target the family buyers of the country. With this newly launched electric scooter, the company aims to take on the legacy automakers like Honda and their immensely successful Activa. It also aims to take away market share from TVS iQube.

Ather Energy has launched the Rizta with an introductory price of Rs 1.09 lakh. The Ather Rizta comes available in two main variants – the S and Z. The S variant offers an IDC range of 123 km and gets a top speed of 80 km/h. It comes with a 7-inch Deepview display and it is offered in three colors. It has been priced at Rs 1,09,999.

On the other hand, the Rizta Z comes with two battery pack options. The bigger battery pack offers 160 km of range. Meanwhile, the smaller battery pack model offers 123 km of range. Both are IDC certified.

Additionally, both of these variants get 7-inch TFT displays. They also get backrests and come with 7 color options. These variants have been priced at Rs 1,24,999 and Rs 1,44,999. Ather Rizta comes with the largest seat in any scooter in India. Underneath it, there is a storage capacity of 34 liters.

In terms of design, the company has shifted away from its sporty appearance of the 450 Series. The Rizta gets a much more bulbous body which looks very familiar to the popular Indian ICE scooters like the Honda Activa and Suzuki Access. It gets LED lights, switchgear from 450 Series scooters, and a ton of other features.
