What is Vahan Pooja?

For those who may not be aware, Vahan Pooja is a Hindu ritual where vehicles are worshipped to seek the blessings of Gods and Goddesses for their safety and smooth operation. It is commonly performed by people after purchasing a new vehicle.

The ceremony typically involves cleaning the vehicle, applying vermillion (red powder) or turmeric paste on it, lighting incense sticks, offering flowers, coconut, and reciting prayers. The purpose is to invoke the protection of gods and goddesses for the vehicle and its occupants, ensuring a safe journey and use of the vehicle.

Coming to the details of the Bentley Bentayga seen in the video, it is the flagship luxury SUV sold by the British carmaker Bentley in India and across the globe. This SUV competes with the likes of the Mercedes Maybach GLS 600 and the Rolls Royce Cullinan. This SUV is offered in multiple variants, including long wheelbase and short wheelbase models.

This particular model appears to be the short wheelbase model. It comes powered by a 4.0-liter V8 engine that generates a maximum power of 542 Bhp and a peak torque of 770 Nm. It was the first-ever SUV from Bentley, and over the years, it has been updated on a few different occasions.

Lamborghini Huracan Pooja

As mentioned, this is not the first time such an expensive vehicle has been taken to a mandir for Pooja. Back in April of last year, a video showing a priest (pandit) performing Vaahan Pooja in front of a Lamborghini Huracan Performante was shared online. In this video, after the Pooja was finished, the owner who resides in Bengaluru took the Lamborghini supercar out for a spin in the city.

The Huracan STO comes powered by a massive 5.2-liter V10 naturally-aspirated engine that delivers a maximum power of 640 PS and a peak torque of 565 Nm. The STO is a rear-wheel-drive car, unlike the Huracan Performante, which was an AWD vehicle.
