Royal Enfield Guerrilla launch date

As mentioned, the announcement of the Guerrilla’s launch date has been officially made by Siddhartha Lal, Managing Director. In addition, Govindarajan Balakrishnan, CEO of Royal Enfield, has also shared the same. As per the officials, the soon-to-be-launched Guerrilla will be the most affordable motorcycle in the 450cc segment.

The anticipation for the Guerrilla 450 has been building for almost two years. Over the years, we have seen numerous spy shots and teaser images. Royal Enfield also recently released a series of teaser videos and images, showcasing the motorcycle’s design and features.

Design and Features

The Guerrilla 450 has retained the signature Royal Enfield elements in terms of its design. It gets a round headlamp, an offset circular instrument console, and round rear-view mirrors. However, it also introduces several new components.

These elements include a chiselled and muscular fuel tank, a floating tail section, a single-piece seat, split grab rails, an underbelly bash plate, and a stubby exhaust muffler. The overall design hints at a sporty yet compact build. With this design, the company is aiming to target urban commuters.

From the teaser images, it appears that the Guerrilla 450 will feature alloy wheels and tubeless tyres. These will be a departure from the spoked wheels and tube tyres seen on the Himalayan 450. Additionally, the motorcycle will sport a gaitered telescopic fork upfront, replacing the USD fork found on its ADV counterpart.

In addition, the expected offset instrument cluster could either be a part digital LCD unit or a fully digital TFT unit. It resembles the setup that we have seen on the new Himalayan 450. Other anticipated features include Bluetooth connectivity, LED headlights, LED winkers, multiple ride modes, and a USB charging port.

Engine and Performance

Coming to the powerplant of this upcoming motorcycle, the Guerrilla 450 will most likely come powered by the same Sherpa 450 engine that propels the Himalayan 450. This 452cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine produces 40 bhp and 40 Nm of torque in the Himalayan.

Presently, the exact tuning for the Guerrilla 450 has not been confirmed. Experts anticipate that it could offer slightly different outputs, which will be better suited for city riding conditions. The engine will be paired with a 6-speed gearbox featuring a slip and assist clutch.

Pricing and Market Positioning

As mentioned, the pricing of the Guerrilla 450 will be one of the most attractive aspects of this bike. It will be positioned as an affordable urban motorcycle, and it is likely to undercut its ADV sibling, the Himalayan 450, with a starting price around Rs 2.3 lakh (ex-showroom).

There is speculation about an introductory price of Rs 2.29 lakh. This will make it a competitive option in the 450cc market, especially when compared to rivals like the Triumph Speed 400, priced at Rs 2.33 lakh (ex-showroom).

Future Products

Apart from the soon-to-be-launched Guerrilla 450, Royal Enfield has a number of other bikes in its 450cc lineup. Following the Guerrilla 450, the company plans to introduce several other models, including the Scrambler 450 (codenamed K1K) and Café Racer 450 (K1E).

Reportedly, there will also be a Power Cruiser 450 (K1D) and another variant of the Himalayan, the K1X Himalayan Raid. The latter is expected next year. Among these, the Guerrilla 450 is anticipated to attract the maximum number of customers due to its city-friendly nature and competitive pricing.
