Bollywood actor Sunil Shetty buys a brand-new MG Comet EV

One of the most revered actors from Bollywood, Sunil Shetty, also known as “Anna,” recently brought home a brand new MG Comet EV. The Comet EV is currently the most affordable electric four-wheeler in India, and it starts at Rs 7.98 lakh. The picture of Sunil Shetty’s brand new MG Comet has been shared on Instagram by MG Motor India.

MG Motor India has reposted the picture of Sunil Shetty posing with his brand-new MG Comet. The actor shared it with the caption stating, “My first EV, ‘The MG COMET’… love it!!” The actor has chosen the very classy shade of Starry Black for his first electric vehicle. Apart from this, the Comet EV also comes available in Aurora Silver, Candy White, Candy White With Starry Black, and Apple Green With Starry Black.

MG Motor India launched the Comet EV hatchback in April of this year. The Comet EV has been given the tag of being one of the quirkiest cars in the country. It boasts a very unique appearance and comes with a very futuristic design with only two doors. It features a quadricycle-inspired body design that incorporates upscale features like split headlights, LED elements spanning the width of the vehicle, stylish alloy wheels, a tall C-Pillar, and a dual-tone paint job.

On the inside, this SUV comes equipped with twin 10.25-inch screens along with a 2-spoke steering. This tiny hatchback may look small on the outside, but it can easily and very comfortably accommodate four people. As for the features, it comes equipped with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, keyless entry, push-button start, a digital key, power windows, a grey interior theme, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.

Coming to the powertrain side of things, the MG Comet EV is offered with a 17.3 kWh battery pack. This battery takes about 7 hours to charge from 0-100% through a regular home socket, and MG provides a 3.3 kW charger with the car. As for the motor, the car gets an electric motor which produces a maximum power of 42 PS and a peak torque of 110 Nm. The overall range of this EV according to this company is 230 km.

Apart from the newly acquired MG Comet, the actor owns a few big luxury SUVs in his garage. The latest addition to his luxury car collection is a Mercedes Benz G63 AMG. The actor has bought this popular SUV in a shade of Mojave Silver. The G63 AMG or more commonly known as the G-Wagen is one of the most popular SUVs amongst celebrities and mega entrepreneurs.

It boasts a massive road presence, and it is equally powerful. It comes powered by a massive Biturbo V8 engine that generates a maximum output of 585 PS and a maximum torque output of 850 Nm, and it comes mated to a 9-speed Tiptronic automated gearbox.

Land Rover Defender 110

The actor also owns Land Rover Defender 110 finished in a shade of Fuji White. The exact variant of his SUV is unknown. The Land Rover Defender 110 is also one of the most popular luxury SUVs, and a ton of Bollywood celebrities and businessmen own it. This SUV in the country is offered with three engine options – two petrol and one diesel motor. The turbo petrol engines offered include a 2.0-liter-4 cylinder unit making 300 bhp and 400 Nm of torque, while the other is a 3.0-litre 6-cylinder unit producing 400 bhp and 550 Nm of torque. Lastly, there is a turbo diesel engine which is the most popular pick in India. It is a 3.0-litre inline 6 unit that makes 300 bhp and 650 Nm of torque.
