Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor buys a new Land Rover Defender worth Rs 1.2 crore

The purpose-built off-roader Defender from British SUV manufacturer Land Rover is one of the most iconic SUVs of all time. This massive SUV has always been known for its off-road capabilities; however, in recent times, it has become synonymous with wealth. Over the last few years, the newest generation of the Defender has become extremely popular with businessmen, politicians, and popular celebrities across the globe. Most recently, the famous Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor also got herself this imposing SUV, and a video of her new Defender has been shared online.

Kareena Kapoor’s New Land Rover Defender

The video of Kareena Kapoor’s new Land Rover Defender has been shared on YouTube by Cars For You on their channel. In the video, Kareena Kapoor’s sister Karishma Kapoor can be first seen entering Kareena’s house in her white-colored Land Rover Discovery Sport SUV. Soon after this, both sisters come downstairs and move towards the parking. At this point, Kareena Kapoor’s new Land Rover Defender can be noted in the background.

Next up in the video, Karishma and Kareena Kapoor can be seen having a small conversation and then moving towards their individual SUVs. Both of their Land Rover SUVs were parked right next to each other. From the video, we can note that Kareena Kapoor’s new Defender is finished in a shade of Yulong white, which is a common choice for celebrities for this SUV. In fact, Sunny Deol and Sunil Shetty both own Defenders finished in the same shade.

2023 Land Rover Defender

At the moment, the exact variant of Kareena Kapoor’s Defender is unknown. However, from the small glimpse, it can be noted it is the 110 variant. Land Rover currently offers the new Defender in three main variants – the Defender 90, 110, and 130. The 130 is the newest release from the brand and it offers 5 doors, just like the 110; however, it offers a seating layout for seven people. As mentioned, the company also offers the Defender in a three-door variant called the Defender 90 as well. Talking about engine options, Land Rover currently offers three engine options for this giant SUV in India.

Two of the three are petrol, and one is diesel. The turbo petrol engines offered include a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder unit that generates 300 bhp and 400 Nm of peak torque. Meanwhile, there is a 3.0-liter 6-cylinder on offer as well, which is able to produce a maximum of 400 bhp and 550 Nm of torque. The turbo diesel engine, which is one of the most popular picks, is a 3.0-liter inline 6-cylinder unit that makes 300 bhp and 650 Nm of torque.

Lastly, there is another engine option which is very rare and powerful. It is the 5.0-liter V8 petrol engine which produces a maximum of 518 bhp of power and an equally impressive 625 Nm of torque. Transmission duties of all of these engines are performed by an 8-speed automatic transmission. Meanwhile, the power is sent to all four wheels. 4×4 is a standard feature across all variants and versions of the Land Rover Defender.
