BYD Atto3 electric SUV mega delivery: 200 units delivered in a day

Ever since the launch of its premium electric SUV, the Atto3, BYD (Build Your Dreams) India has been on a steady rise. Continuing the momentum, BYD delivered 200 units of the Atto3 electric SUV in a single day from six of its dealerships combined, which are spread across India. It is the biggest single-day sales figure achieved by BYD to date.

The 200 units of the BYD Atto 3 were delivered from six of its authorized dealerships in India, located in Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Kochi, and Hyderabad. BYD India organized this mega event of mass delivery to mark the 16th anniversary of its operations in India. In addition to the delivery ceremony, various events like traditional dances and exciting games and contests were also organized at the dealerships of BYD in these six cities.

While BYD entered the passenger vehicle market not long ago, the Chinese all-electric vehicle brand has had a presence in the Indian automotive market in the commercial vehicle space for 16 years now. After a year of launching the e6 MPV, BYD expanded its lineup by adding the Atto 3 electric SUV in 2022.

Available in two variants – Extended Range and Special Edition, the BYD Atto 3 comes with a 60.48 kWh lithium-ion blade battery pack, which claims an ARAI-claimed maximum driving range of 521 km. This blade battery pack takes 50 minutes for a 0-180 per cent charge using a DC fast charger. However, with a conventional AC charger, the battery takes 9.5-10 hours for a full charge from 0 to 100 per cent.

BYD Atto3

In India, the BYD Atto 3 is available with a front-wheel drive configuration, with a single electric motor powering the front wheels. This electric motor churns out 201 bhp of maximum power and 310 Nm of maximum torque and enables the Atto 3 to cover the 0-100 kmph sprint in 7.3 seconds.

The BYD Atto 3 comes packed with some of the most premium and new-age technologies and features, including all-LED lighting, a 12.8-inch rotating touchscreen infotainment system, and a Level-2 advanced driving assistance system (ADAS). Additional features offered in the Atto 3 include seven airbags, a panoramic sunroof, NFC card key, and vehicle-to-load mobile power station capability.

The BYD Atto 3 currently competes with the MG ZS EV and Hyundai Kona EV in the midsize all-electric SUV space, which will witness newer SUVs like the Tata Harrier.EV and Mahindra XUV.e8 soon.
