Innova converted to Innova Crysta

The Toyota Innova and Innova Crysta have a huge fanbase in India. Even the first-generation version of the MPV is fetching good money in the used car market. The main reason behind its popularity is its reliability, along with the comfortable ride it offers. We have come across several videos where people who were bored with the looks of the Innova got it customized with aftermarket body kits. Here, we have a 2009 model Toyota Innova that has been converted into a Crysta.

This is probably the first time we are seeing a conversion project like this on the internet. The work on this 2009 model Innova has been done by a local workshop in Tamil Nadu. The video has been posted by a YouTube channel called Innova Conversion Crysta. In the video, the vlogger shows how the finished product looks after the conversion.

This is not merely a denting or fabrication job. The car has been completely converted into an Innova Crysta using Crysta body panels. The video does not show how the car looked before the conversion. However, the finished product looks neat.

The front of the MPV has been completely changed. It gets a Toyota Innova Crysta’s front grille, bonnet, headlamps, and bumper. It is not clear whether the workshop had to do any fabrication work to ensure that the new panels stay in place.

The front and rear fenders on this MPV were also replaced as part of the conversion. It looks just like an Innova Crysta. If you look at the side profile of the car, you might find it confusing. This is mainly because the third-row quarter glass design of the Innova has not been changed.

The Innova Crysta and the regular Innova have different designs in this area. However, the workshop has tried its best to mask this and has used a lot of accessories on the MPV. It gets rain visors, chrome garnishes, chrome garnish on the wheel arch, and we also see a roof rail on the MPV.

At the rear, the bumper and fender have been replaced as well. It looks like the tailgate on this Innova was also replaced with a unit from the Crysta. The tail light on the Innova has also been replaced with aftermarket LED lights for the Crysta. The clear lens tail lamps with a smoked effect look good on the car.

The interior of the car has also been customized. The dashboard design is the same as the regular Innova; however, the steering wheel has been changed, and the seat covers and upholstery have been redone. This is a cool-looking conversion project that was neatly executed with the limited resources the workshop had.

The whole car has been painted in the brown or bronze shade we have seen on the Innova Crysta. It doesn’t look like a 2009 model Innova at all. For anyone who looks at this vehicle, they wouldn’t be able to tell that this is not an Innova Crysta but a 15-year-old Innova. We hope to see more such projects and videos online in the coming months and years.
