Anand Mahindra Checks Out Bujji Car From Kalki Movie [Video]

A few weeks ago, Mahindra chairman Anand Mahindra shared a tweet appreciating “Bujji,” the most unique car from the movie “Kalki 2898.” Now, finally, the Mahindra boss was seen taking the driving seat of this unique masterpiece. Anand Mahindra was seen admiring the Bujji futuristic car, which has been designed by the makers of the movie and Mahindra Automotive. He even got his very own Mahindra Scorpio-N parked right next to this engineering marvel.

This video showing Anand Mahindra driving the Bujji has been shared on Instagram by India Today. It starts with Anand Mahindra arriving at the location where this car was specially kept ready for him to drive. After he reached the location, he was accompanied by two guards with costumes inspired by the movie.

Following this, Anand Mahindra stood in front of Bujji, and the cover was removed from this mind-bending creation. Soon after seeing the car in real life, Anand Mahindra started clapping. He was then seen noting details of the Bujji while taking a walkaround. The Mahindra boss was also seen talking with the people who created the Bujji and learning about its working and other related things.

After the walkaround, the single bubble glass driving chamber of the Bujji was opened, and he then sat in the driving seat. He was then instructed on how this vehicle gets driven. Following which, he was accompanied by one of the people, and he drove the Bujji for a few meters.

Next up, the video shows that his personal Mahindra Scorpio-N, finished in red color, was brought. It was parked right next to the Bujji, and Anand Mahindra posed in front of the two vehicles. He was also accompanied by two costume guards to add a flare of the movie to the occasion.

What is the “Bujji” car?

For those who may not be up to speed with the Bujji car, it is a unique vehicle that has been designed for Nag Ashwin’s upcoming sci-fi thriller movie “Kalki 2898 AD.” From the looks of it, the car may seem like a CGI creation to many people. However, this car has been created in reality to be used in the movie.

Now, the reason Anand Mahindra was recently present to witness the Bujji in real life is that Mahindra helped in creating this vehicle. The company, along with Jayem Automotive, created this unique-looking car weighing in at 6 tonnes from scratch.

This car features custom-built 34.4-inch hubless rims at the front. Additionally, it gets a single massive wheel at the rear. The car has been engineered to move freely in any direction. Dimensionally, the Bujji car measures 6075 mm in length, 2186 mm in height, and 3380 mm in width.

In terms of the drivetrain, the Bujji car has been given a 47kW battery setup. It comes equipped with two Mahindra electric motors that generate a maximum power output of 126 bhp and an astonishing 9800 Nm of peak torque. The reason for this amount of torque is that it needs to move as it is extremely heavy. The car also features a special canopy design on the driver’s side that adds to its sci-fi aesthetic.

Many other celebrities have driven it

Apart from Anand Mahindra, many other popular celebrities have also driven the Bujji car. The most notable ones are the Telugu movie megastar Naga Chaitanya and India’s only Formula 1 driver Narain Karthikeyan. They both were also in shock after driving this unique vehicle.
