This BMW 6-Series With V8 Engine Now Runs On CNG [Video]

You never know what you can stumble upon on Indian roads. We say this because recently we came across a car with a CNG kit which you might never guess can be given a CNG kit. We are talking about a V8 engine-powered BMW 6-Series that has been fitted with an aftermarket CNG kit for better fuel efficiency. In addition, the same video also shows a Mahindra Thar lifestyle off-roader also fitted with a CNG kit.

BMW 6-Series with a CNG kit

The video showing a BMW 6-Series Gran Coupe equipped with an aftermarket CNG kit has been shared on YouTube. It comes courtesy of Sai Fuel Vadodara. The host of the channel mentions that to review this car he is going to head to Surat. After this, he reaches Surat and shows this unique BMW 650i.

Following the introduction, the vlogger then starts showing the car. He first shows the exterior of this beautiful midnight blue-colored BMW 6-Series. After this, he shows the tan leather interior of the car. Finally, after a brief walkaround, he opens the bonnet of the Coupe sportscar to show the aftermarket CNG kit.

After showing the engine of this car, he removed the plastic engine cover. After this, the vlogger shows the main highlight, which is the CNG kit. He states that as this car is equipped with a V8 engine, this particular car gets two CNG rails with 4 injectors on each side.

Next up, he mentions that the car has been given a CNG kit sold by Zavoli. This is an Italian brand that makes CNG kits for high-end cars. He then shows the new ECU and the CNG pressure gauge. In addition, the vlogger states that it comes with two filling nozzles, one in the front and one in the rear.

Following the engine bay of the BMW 650i, he moves to the rear and opens the boot door to show the CNG gas cylinder. He mentions that this particular car has been fitted with a CNG kit by Maruti Auto Gas. Next up, he states that it gets a 12 kg cylinder which can hold around 8 kgs of CNG gas.

Driving experience

Moving on, before driving the BMW 6-Series with the CNG kit, he asks another person to rev the car. The video then presents the car revving and producing a beautiful V8 exhaust note.

After this, he takes this unique BMW for a spin to give his driving impressions. While driving the car, the vlogger states that there is no difference in ride and there are no error codes on the dashboard.

Originally, this BMW 650i, which was once priced at around Rs 1.1 crore, came with a 4.8-liter V8 petrol engine. This engine made around 362 bhp and 489 Nm of torque. It could do a sprint of 0-100 kmph in just 5.5 seconds.

Mercedes with CNG kit

As shocking as it may seem, this is not the first time an imported German luxury car has been fitted with an aftermarket CNG kit.
