Rs. 5 Crore Rolls Royce Ghost Stranded On Flooded Delhi Roads [Video]

The monsoon season has descended upon us, and this time around, the capital of our country, Delhi, is suffering from widespread chaos caused by heavy rains. Recently, we shared a few videos showing the condition of roads in Delhi, which are completely waterlogged and have become like rivers. Now, another video has been shared online in which a Rs 5 crore Rolls Royce Ghost and a Volvo XC60 SUV have gotten stuck in the middle of the road.

This video of the two expensive luxury cars stuck in the middle of a waterlogged road has been shared on Instagram by Car Crazy India. In this short clip, we can note that a grey Rolls Royce Ghost, worth approximately Rs 5 crore, is stranded in the middle of a flooded road in Delhi.

We can note that this luxury sedan is standing in the middle of the road where every other car is crossing it. It can also be observed that the indicators of this Rolls Royce are flashing. It is unclear if anyone was sitting inside the vehicle or not.

Another luxury car stuck on the same road

The same reel also features a Volvo XC60 luxury SUV stopped just a few meters ahead of the Rolls Royce Ghost. The Volvo’s taillights can be seen turning on and off. Most likely, the passengers were still inside. It appears that the driver was attempting to restart the vehicle, which appears to be waterlogged.

Delhi Floods

Delhi has been grappling with extreme weather conditions. The city has shifted from the scorching heat of the summer season to the unprecedented rainfall of the rainy season. Recently, the city experienced record-breaking rainfall, receiving 228.1 mm within a span of 24 hours.

This downpour surpassed the average monthly rainfall for June. It also marked the highest recorded rainfall in 16 years. Various parts of the city, including areas around the Delhi airport and major observatories, reported significant rainfall, leading to severe waterlogging.

Delhi airport roof collapse

The initial heavy rains of the monsoon season brought familiar scenes of flooded roads, submerged underpasses, and extensive traffic jams. However, the rainfall not only caused traffic disruptions but also led to incidents such as the fatal collapse of a roof at the Delhi airport.

It has also caused flight delays and metro station closures. Recently, a few pictures and videos showing the collapsed roof of Delhi airport on a Maruti Suzuki Ertiga Taxi have been shared online. Sadly, the driver of this MPV was crushed by a massive beam that fell over his car.

Other videos and pictures show clogged stormwater drains, filled with plastic and garbage. As a result, many cars got submerged in water-filled roads. It can be noted that some roads have even become like rivers, which has made people leave their cars completely flooded. Even city buses have become flooded.

Driving on Waterlogged Roads

Driving on waterlogged roads is filled with risks, particularly in a city like Delhi, where the drainage infrastructure often fails to cope with heavy rains. When roads are submerged, it becomes difficult to judge the depth of the water and any hidden obstacles that might lie beneath.

So, in such cases, we suggest you not take your vehicle inside such waterlogged roads. If the vehicle stops due to excessive water, it can easily get stranded. Attempting to drive through flooded areas can cause significant damage to the engine and electrical systems as well.

Water entering the engine can lead to hydrostatic lock. In this condition, the engine seizes because of water intrusion. It can then lead to costly repairs. The electrical components, such as lights and the car’s computer systems, are also vulnerable to water damage. Additionally, the risk of being stranded in rising water poses a serious threat to the safety of the passengers as well.
