Man Drives Off With Fuel Dispenser Attached: Fuel Pump Uprooted [Video]

Going to get your car refilled is something that every car owner does on a regular basis. However, every once in a while, people can make mistakes. The result of such mistakes can be extremely dangerous. Recently, a video was shared online in which a man was seen driving away in his Maruti Suzuki Baleno with the fuel pump nozzle still inside his car. The result of this mistake was that the entire fuel pump got extracted from its position.

In this short clip, we can note that a grey-colored Maruti Suzuki Baleno was parked in front of a fuel pump. The attendant can be seen putting the fuel pump nozzle inside the fuel tank opening of the car.

During this, the attendant was talking to another customer who was standing with his bike just behind the car. Following the activation of the automatic filling system, the attendant then went back to the fuel pump and started entering the required fuel amount for the motorcycle.

What happened next?

During this time, the Maruti Suzuki Baleno driver noted that the attendant had moved away from the vehicle. He most likely thought that the car’s fuel tank had been filled. Because of this, he started driving ahead. However, the attendant did not remove the nozzle from the Baleno.

Due to this, the entire fuel pump machine came out of the spot in which it was grounded. We can observe that as soon as the Baleno driver started driving the car, the attendant ran towards the car to stop the driver. However, by the time he could be successful, the pump was already out of its place and the fuel had started overflowing.

What happened afterward is currently unknown. However, we can note that it was a very scary situation. This is because petrol is extremely flammable and one small spark can ignite the entire fuel station and burn it. Over the years, we have seen numerous such instances.

Who was at fault here?

It looks like the majority of the fault in this case is with the car driver driving the Maruti Suzuki Baleno. The reason for this is that he or she should have been a little more careful and should have paid attention while their vehicle was being refilled with fuel.

There is a little fault from the attendant’s side as well, as he should not have moved from his place while refilling the car. This is because it prompted the owner to think that his car was completely filled. Thankfully, nobody got hurt because of this issue.
