2024 Maruti Dzire Will Be More Premium Than Swift: 5 Key Differences

Maruti Suzuki launched the all-new Swift in the market last month, and deliveries have also started. India’s largest car manufacturer is now preparing to launch the next-generation Dzire sedan. As you already know, the sub-4 meter sedan segment is specific to India due to tax benefits. Several spy pictures of the upcoming sedan have surfaced online. The sedan is based on the Swift platform and is expected to be more premium than the hatchback. Here are 5 key differences that we expect to see in the new Dzire.

Styling

Maruti will design the exterior of the sedan to be clearly differentiated from the hatchback. The sedan is expected to get a completely new headlamp design, grille, and bumper. The headlamp size and design are expected to be slightly bigger than those on the Swift.

The side profile of the sedan is expected to have a similar design to the outgoing model. However, we expect it to come with new alloy wheels.

Just like the headlamps, the tail lights on the upcoming Dzire are going to be different. The registration number of the car will be placed on the tailgate as usual. The rear bumper will also be different.

Interior

While the basic layout or design of the cabin in the upcoming Dzire is expected to be the same as the Swift, the theme will be different. It will get a beige or lighter-colored interior for a premium look. The lighter-colored cabin will give the sedan an airy feel and make the cabin look more spacious than before.

Sunroof

In the spy pictures that have surfaced online, we have clearly spotted a new feature that Maruti will offer with the new Dzire: an electric sunroof. Swift doesn’t get this feature.

It would be the first sedan in this segment to get this feature. The sunroof has become a very popular feature among car buyers, and with the rise in competition from other segments, Maruti is planning to make the Dzire future-proof by offering this feature.

More Features

As mentioned above, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire is one of the best-selling sedans in this segment, and Maruti is probably trying to retain the title with the upcoming next-gen Dzire.

Maruti will be offering a floating-type touchscreen infotainment system, twin-pod instrument cluster, automatic climate control, and a multi-function steering wheel. We won’t be surprised if Maruti introduces the 360-degree camera feature in the new sedan. This feature is not present in the Swift.

Bigger Boot

As we know, the Dzire is a compact sedan. When compared to the current generation Swift, the Dzire will offer more boot space. The Swift currently offers 265 liters of boot space, and the upcoming Dzire is expected to offer 350 liters or more.

The Dzire will be powered by the same engine as the Swift. It will use the brand’s 1.2-liter, three-cylinder (Z12E) engine that generates 82 Ps and 112 Nm of peak torque. Just like the Swift, the upcoming Dzire is expected to be fuel-efficient. The sedan will be offered with both 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox options. It will initially be offered with a petrol-only option, and a CNG version will be introduced at a later stage.
