If you are looking for a proper seven seater car under Rs. 20 lakhs, the only options you have include the Hyundai Alcazar, Mahindra XUV 700, Kia Carens, Mahindra Scorpio-N and the Toyota Innova Hycross. Today, with the help of a YouTube video uploaded by Sarvesh Rao we will compare the base trim of Innova Hycross with the mid spec trim of the Mahindra Scorpio-N.

First of all, let’s talk about the pricing. The Innova Hycross range starts at Rs. 19.77 lakhs and goes up to Rs. 30.98 lakhs. On the other hand, the price for the Scorpio-N starts at Rs. 13.85 lakhs and goes up to Rs. 24.54 lakhs. The base trim of the Innova is GX, priced at Rs. 19.77 lakhs and the Z6 trim of the Scorpio-N is priced at Rs. 16.86 lakhs. Please note that all the prices mentioned are ex-showroom.

The Innova Hycross is offered with a petrol engine only. However, the higher variants come with strong hybrid technology which delivers better fuel efficiency. The GX trim of the Innova Hycross is powered by a 2.0-litre pure petrol engine which delivers a power output of 175 PS and a torque of 209 Nm. This engine is mated to a CVT transmission.

The Z6 variant of the Scorpio-N is not offered with a petrol engine. The diesel engine is a 2.2-litre unit which produces 175 PS of power and 400 Nm of torque. Transmission options include a six speed manual and a six speed automatic gearbox.

Both the cars have their own distinctive design. The Scorpio-N comes in the SUV category while the Innova Hycross is an MPV. The Scorpio-N offers boxy and upright design language while the Innova Hycross features a sharper design with multiple curves.

Now, let’s talk about the dimensions of both the SUVs. The Innova Hycross measures 4755 mm in length, 1845 mm in width and 1785mm in height. On the other hand, the Scorpio N measures 4662 mm in length, 1917 mm in width and 1857 mm in height.
