Maruti Grand Vitara Now Selling At 1.39 Lakh Discount

Maruti Suzuki is offering discounts on models sold via Nexa dealerships. Their flagship model, the Grand Vitara, is also being offered at a discount. According to recent reports, Maruti Suzuki is offering a maximum discount of Rs 1.39 lakh on the flagship SUV. The Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara is the first product jointly developed by Maruti and Toyota from scratch.

The Sigma, Delta, Zeta, and Alpha variants of the Grand Vitara are all getting discounts. Depending on the variant you choose, the discount amount varies. The strong hybrid variant of the Grand Vitara is getting the maximum discount. It includes a Rs 50,000 consumer discount, an exchange or scrappage discount of Rs 50,000 or Rs 55,000 respectively, a corporate discount of Rs 4,000, and an additional discount of Rs 30,000. This brings the total discount amount on the Grand Vitara to Rs 1.39 lakh.

The Sigma petrol gets a maximum discount of Rs 74,000, the Delta petrol gets a Rs 79,000 discount, and the Zeta and Alpha variants get a Rs 69,000 discount. It should be noted that in order to get the Rs 1.39 lakh discount for the strong hybrid Zeta/Alpha variants, certain criteria must be met. If not, the discount amount will vary.

Grand Vitara

The Grand Vitara is a rebadged and redesigned version of the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder. Along with the Hyryder, it is one of the only SUVs in the segment to offer strong hybrid technology.

With the latest discounts in place, Maruti is trying to make the Grand Vitara more attractive to buyers. The SUV competes with the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, and Honda Elevate in the segment.

The SUV is available with a petrol engine only. The Grand Vitara is offered with two engine options: a mild hybrid and a strong hybrid version.

The mild hybrid version of the SUV is powered by a 1.5-liter K15C petrol engine that generates 101 bhp and 136 Nm of peak torque. This engine is offered with a manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters.

The strong hybrid version of the Grand Vitara uses a 1.5-liter, 3-cylinder petrol engine paired with an electric motor. In a regular ICE vehicle, the engine is the only source of power, but in this strong hybrid version, the car uses a combination of an internal combustion engine and an electric motor. The engine uses power from the fuel, while the electric motor uses power from the battery pack placed in the boot of the car.

You can use the Grand Vitara as an EV, and when the battery runs out of charge, the engine takes over and the car continues to move forward. While the car is in motion, the battery keeps recharging. At lower speeds, it is the electric motor that moves the car, and it seamlessly shifts to the engine when the speeds are higher.

The main attraction of the Grand Vitara strong hybrid is its fuel efficiency. It has a claimed economy close to 28 kmpl. Even the mild hybrid version of the Maruti Grand Vitara offers a claimed economy of 21.11 kmpl. A CNG version of the SUV is also available. The price for the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara starts at Rs 10.99 lakh, ex-showroom, and goes up to Rs 20.09 lakh, ex-showroom.
