Nissan India Releases New Teaser For Upcoming X-Trail SUV [Video]

Nissan X-Trail teaser

Nissan is currently operating in India with only one product. This is soon going to change. The manufacturer has now shared a new teaser video hinting that they will soon launch the much-awaited X-Trail in the Indian market. The manufacturer had showcased the upcoming X-Trail at an event back in 2022. The exact launch date is yet to be announced, but it is most likely to happen in July.

The Nissan X-Trail was showcased along with the Juke and Qashqai. While the manufacturer didn’t give any clarity about the two other models, it did confirm that they will be bringing the X-Trail back.

The SUV showcased was the fourth-generation X-Trail, and one thing to know about the upcoming SUV is that it is going to be a CBU. Nissan won’t be manufacturing or assembling it in India.

This means the Nissan X-Trail is going to be priced on the expensive side. Compared to other SUVs in this segment, the Nissan X-Trail is going to be expensive. The Nissan X-Trail gets the V-Motion front grille with a split headlamp setup.

The SUV looks premium and bold from the front. In the teaser shared by the manufacturer, we see the LED DRLs, turn indicators, and the front grille. The grille on the upcoming SUV looks slightly redesigned.

There is a decent use of chrome on the front grille. The fourth-generation X-Trail is already on sale in international markets. The X-Trail is offered in both 5- and 7-seat configurations. However, in India, we are likely to get the 5-seater version only.

Other than this, the Nissan X-Trail will get a silver-colored faux skid plate on the lower part of the bumper, dual-tone alloy wheels, cladding around the wheel arches and lower part of the door, roof rails, roof-mounted spoiler, rear windscreen wiper and defogger, shark fin antenna, LED tail lamps, and so on.

The Nissan X-Trail will be offered as the flagship model from Nissan, and the SUV is expected to offer several premium features to justify the price tag. The SUV is expected to come with a large 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system floating in the center of the dashboard. The SUV will also come with features like a 12.3-inch full digital instrument cluster, HUD, panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charger, paddle shifters, premium sound system from Bose, auto-hold function, electronic parking brake, ADAS, and so on.

The Nissan X-Trail will also be getting leatherette upholstery in the higher variants, and the front seats are likely to get electric adjustments.

Coming to the engine, Nissan is likely to offer the X-Trail with a 1.5-liter turbo petrol strong hybrid engine. As we know, Nissan has also stopped offering diesel engine options with any of their models.

The 1.5-liter strong hybrid engine in the Nissan X-Trail generates 201 PS and 305 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a CVT gearbox. The Nissan X-Trail was offered in both 2WD and AWD versions. Whether we will get the AWD version is something we have to wait and see. The AWD version would only make the SUV more expensive than it already is.
