Tata Harrier Crashes Into Parked Truck: Strong Build Saves Passengers [Video]

Tata cars are known for their sturdy build quality. Most Tata cars have proven this in accidents, where they have kept the occupants safe. Here we have another example of an incident where a Tata Harrier SUV crashed into the rear of a truck trailer that was parked on the side of the road. The SUV once again saved the lives of the occupants and driver in the car.

The video has been circulating on various social media platforms. The video seen here has been shared by The Indian Motorheads on their Instagram page. In this video, we see a Tata Harrier that is stuck under the trailer of a truck. The exact location where the accident happened is not known. This is the pre-facelift Harrier Dark, which Tata never sent to the crash test.

Although Tata had not sent it to the tests, people were confident about the build quality. It looks like in this case, the driver of the Tata Harrier Dark Edition got distracted while driving and did not see the truck and trailer parked on the roadside. By the time the driver noticed the truck, we assume it was too late, and the SUV crashed into the rear of the trailer.

It looks like the driver might have applied brakes, but the SUV crashed into the trailer anyway. The SUV absorbed the impact pretty well. It doesn’t look like the trailer had an underride protection guard at the rear. The SUV crashed into the trailer, and the bumper simply went under the trailer.

In this video, we see the scenes after the crash happened. The Tata Harrier was stuck under the trailer and was pulled out using a tow truck. The occupants of the car are said to be safe, and we do not have much information about them from this video. As seen in the video here, the front of the Harrier is completely destroyed.

The bonnet is crumpled. The front bumper, headlights, radiator, and other parts under the bonnet are damaged. As mentioned above, it doesn’t look like a high-speed crash, and the SUV absorbed the impact well. The front windshield is also damaged in the accident. The pillars of the SUV look intact, and it looks like the occupants might have escaped through the door. The airbags did open at the time of the crash.

Drive Safe

Indian roads are filled with surprises. You take your eyes off the road for a second, and an accident might happen. In this case, we are not sure if the truck and trailer were parked illegally on the roadside or if it was the fault of the Harrier driver that caused the crash.

Whatever the reason, it is always a better idea to stay alert while driving to avoid such incidents. Always drive within the legal speed limits and ensure that all the passengers, including the ones sitting at the rear, are wearing seat belts.

Not the First Time

This is not the first time a Tata vehicle has saved the lives of its occupants. There have been cases where the car was totaled in a crash, and the occupants walked out without any major injuries. Many Tata customers often go back for Tata cars for the same reason. The current versions of Harrier and Safari SUVs on sale have scored 5-star ratings at Bharat NCAP crash tests.
