The Stellantis-owned French automaker Citroën India has finally launched the all-new C3 Aircross in India. The company, at the moment, has only revealed the price of the base variant of this new compact SUV, and it starts at Rs 9.99 lakh. This price tag makes the new Citroën C3 Aircross the most affordable mid-size SUV in India. It undercuts all the popular SUVs in the segment like the champion Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, and others.

The all-new Citroën, with its Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom) price tag, undercuts the segment champions Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos by Rs 88,000 and Rs 91,000, respectively. The base variant prices of both cars are Rs 10.87 lakh and Rs 10.90 lakh, respectively, as well.

The Citroën C3 Aircross also undercuts the previous most affordable models from Maruti Suzuki and Toyota. The C3 Aircross is cheaper than the Grand Vitara and Urban Cruiser Hyryder by Rs 70,000 and Rs 86,000. The ex-showroom prices of these two mid-size SUVs for their base variants are around Rs 10.70 and Rs 10.86, respectively.

Apart from these four popular compact SUVs, the C3 Aircross also underbids the MG Astor. The Astor from the British carmaker retails at Rs 10.82 lakh for its base variant. Up until the launch of the new C3 Aircross, it was the second most affordable base variant of all mid-size SUVs.

Lastly, the Citroën C3 Aircross also undercuts the Czech carmaker Skoda’s Kushaq and German automaker Volkswagen Taigun’s base variants as well. The prices of both cars are Rs 11.59 lakh and Rs 11.62 lakh (ex-showroom). The Citroën C3 Aircross is cheaper than both of these Czech and German SUVs by Rs 1.6 lakh and Rs 1.63 lakh, respectively.

As mentioned, at the moment, the company has only revealed the price of the base variant of the new C3 Aircross SUV. It is believed that the company will be soon revealing the prices of the mid-spec and top-spec variants as well. Additionally, the company has commenced the bookings for this all-new SUV, and it can be booked for an amount of Rs 25,000 at any nearest Citroën dealer or by visiting the brand’s official website.

The new Citroën C3 Aircross comes only with a single-engine option. The company presently is offering the C3 Aircross with a 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, shared with its ICE hatchback sibling C3. This engine comes mated with a 6-speed manual gearbox, delivering 110 PS of maximum power and 190 Nm of maximum torque. A 6-speed torque converter is expected to join the C3 Aircross lineup at a later stage. However, at this moment, it is only offered with the manual gearbox.

In its base trim, the new Citroën C3 Aircross comes available only with a five-seat configuration; however, in higher specs, it will also come with a 7-seat layout as well. The base-spec C3 Aircross misses out on premium features like the roof-mounted AC vents, a touchscreen infotainment system, speakers, reverse camera, rear wiper defogger, and USB charging slots, which are offered in the Max variant. Now, as for features included in the base variant, it comes with safety features like dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, hill hold assist, electronic stability control, reverse parking sensors, and a tire pressure monitoring system.
