Honda Elevate outsells Taigun, Kushaq, Astor, Hector in September

The first made-in-India global SUV from Honda Cars India, the Elevate, has managed to post an impressive sales figure for the month of September. Honda Cars India revealed that the Elevate mid-size SUV found 5,685 new homes in the country last month. The overall sales tally compared with the month of August was up by 101.45 percent. With this impressive result, the Elevate has managed to outsell Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, MG Astor, and Hector along with the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder.

Honda Elevate sales comparison

As mentioned, Honda managed to dispatch a total of 5,685 units of the Elevate in the month of September. This sales tally was 4,099 units more than Volkswagen’s mid-size SUV offering, Taigun. The Taigun managed to post a sales tally of 1,586 units and a negative Year-on-Year figure of -20.5 percent.

Next up, the Honda Elevate also managed a triumph over the Skoda Kushaq. Skoda’s mid-size SUV managed a better sales figure than its cousin Taigun, with a total sales tally of 2,260 units. Its Year-on-Year figure was positive, but it was merely 1.6 percent.

Apart from these German and Czech SUVs, Honda’s Elevate also managed to beat the British SUVs from MG. The Astor and Hector SUVs posted sales figures of 901 units and 2,653 units, which even combined are less than that of the Honda Elevate. MG Astor posted a YoY percentage of -8.1. Meanwhile, Hector posted a better 26 percent YoY growth percent.

Lastly, the Honda Elevate also managed to beat the hybrid mid-size SUV from Toyota Kirloskar Motor India. Honda Elevate posted 1,881 units more than the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder. The total sales for Hyryder stood at 3,804 units. Out of all the other SUVs, the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder posted the best YoY growth percent of 227.

Now, coming to SUVs that managed to beat the Honda Elevate are the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, and Kia Seltos. First off, the Creta managed to attain a sales tally of 12,717, making it the best-selling mid-size SUV in the segment. It only saw a dip of -1.2 percent. Next up, the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara took the second place in the list.

The Grand Vitara posted a sales figure of 11,455, which was up by an impressive 146 percent in the Year-on-Year tally. The Maruti SUV was followed by the newly launched Kia Seltos, which also managed to post an equally impressive sales tally of 10,558 units in the month of September. The YoY sales percentage took a dip by -4.1 percent.

Currently, the Honda Elevate in India starts at Rs 11 lakh and goes all the way up to Rs 16 lakh. It comes equipped with a single naturally aspirated petrol engine option. The car comes equipped with a 1.5-liter four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, which comes paired with a choice between a 6-speed manual or a CVT gearbox. In terms of the power figures, this petrol engine generates 121 PS of maximum power and 145 Nm of maximum torque.
