With sales exceeding 10,000 units in 2023, the Korean automaker is gearing up to introduce more sporty N Line variants to its portfolio. According to Tarun Garg, COO of Hyundai India, the N Line has proven to be a niche product with promising sales figures, prompting the brand to launch additional N Line models in the country. Garg expressed optimism, targeting sales between 15,000 to 20,000 units in the coming years.

The next addition to Hyundai’s N Line lineup in India will be the Creta N Line, slated for launch in the upcoming months. The Creta N Line is based on the facelifted version of the popular Creta SUV, set to hit the market shortly. Although specific details about the upcoming N Line models haven’t been disclosed, it is anticipated that the Creta N Line will adopt a design theme akin to the existing N Line models.

The exterior of the Creta N Line is expected to feature subtle yet distinctive enhancements, including tweaks to the front bumper, grille, and front chin. Notable additions comprise N Line-specific red accents, gloss black elements, and faux-brushed aluminum components. Unique alloy wheels, side skirts, N Line badges, and styling adjustments to the rear bumper are also on the cards. Internally, enthusiasts can look forward to an all-black interior theme, complemented by an N Line-specific gear lever and steering wheel featuring red stitching.

Under the hood, the Creta N Line is likely to share the powertrain with the facelifted Creta, featuring a new 1.5-liter turbo-petrol engine generating 160 horsepower. Paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT), this engine option promises a dynamic driving experience. While the engine output is expected to remain unchanged, Hyundai is anticipated to enhance the sporty character of the Creta N Line with modifications such as a sportier suspension setup, a more exhilarating exhaust note, and adjusted steering dynamics – in line with the approach taken with other N Line models.

Looking ahead, Hyundai’s SUV lineup in India is set for significant developments. The Creta facelift is poised to be the initial launch of the year, with the Creta N Line following closely. Additionally, the Alcazar is scheduled for a facelift, and there are prospects of the facelifted Tucson, unveiled internationally in the previous year, making its way to the Indian market in 2024.

Hyundai’s strategic expansion of the N Line range in India is a response to the positive market reception of the i20 and Venue N Line models. With the imminent introduction of the Creta N Line, enthusiasts can anticipate a blend of sporty design elements and enhanced driving dynamics, further solidifying Hyundai’s position in the competitive Indian automotive landscape.
