India-bound 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift Hybrid in white colour: A closer look [Video]

Just a few days ago, the all-new 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift Hybrid was unveiled in Japan at the Japan Mobility Show. This new model is a heavily redesigned iteration of the popular hatchback Swift sold in India. Recently, a few more detailed pictures of the new Swift finished in the shade of a new pearl white color have been shared online. The pictures reveal a ton of new details about this upcoming hatchback, which will be launched in India next year.

The video and pictures of the Maruti Suzuki Swift Hybrid hatchback have been shared on YouTube by Free Time Auto on their channel. The set of pictures shows the new Swift Hybrid finished in a new pearl white color, which currently is not offered in India. Presently, the outgoing Swift is only offered with an Arctic white option in India. Apart from these, the images show new details of the interior as well.

Exterior Design

Front

First off, let’s start at the front of the new Swift. This time around, the company has given the Swift hatchback a more premium appearance. For this, they have added a brand new grille which gets a high gloss black geometric pattern and a thick black chrome surround. The one shown at the Japanese auto show was also equipped with an ADAS sensor and a front camera. Whether these features will be offered in India is unknown.

Next up, another one of the biggest updates of the new Swift are the LED headlights. This time around, the company has changed the design and integrated an L-shaped LED DRL into the headlight housing. Apart from this, the front bumper has also been changed and gets individual housings for halogen fog lights. The bonnet has also been changed this time around.

Side

Moving on to the side profile, we can note a brand new muscular and bold shoulder line that runs across the entire length of the car. Apart from this, the alloy wheel design is also completely new and features a turbine blade-style diamond-cut set, which enhances the sporty appearance of the new hatchback. Another important update is the removal of hidden rear door handles. It now gets the traditional door handles on the rear as well.

Rear

Coming to the rear section of the new 2024 Swift, we can note that this time around the company has tried to provide it with a floating roof design. The rear tailgate has also been redesigned to accommodate the long running shoulder line. It also features a brand new set of LED taillights which have a C-shaped design. The rear bumper has also been changed. It has now been subdivided into three sections, and the two on each end house new red markers. The middle section has been kept for the number plate.

Interior Updates

New dashboard

In terms of changes in the interior of the new Swift, we can note that it has been fully redesigned. The new 2024 Swift gets a much more premium-looking interior that has taken its inspiration from the Baleno and Grand Vitara mid-size SUV. The dashboard design gets a dual-tone color scheme which has been layered to provide a new appearance.

The center of the dashboard is dominated by the same 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system seen in the Baleno, Fronx, and Grand Vitara. Just below that are the new rectangular air conditioning vents which replace the outgoing model’s circular design. Additionally, the automatic AC controls have also been taken from its much more premium siblings.

Another important detail that can be noted from the pictures is that there is a CD slot just below the AC control. Most likely, it will not be offered in India. Apart from this, another important detail shown in the pictures is the absence of a traditional parking brake lever. The Swift Hybrid shown at the Japan Mobility Show was equipped with an electronic parking brake. Most likely, it will not be offered in India.

New seats

Lastly, on the interior, the pictures show the addition of newly designed front seats. These seats look a lot more sporty with bigger side bolsters. Additionally, we can also observe the newly added hand rest for the driver-side door. Pictures also show the rear split seats folded as well as a third seat belt for the middle passenger.

2024 Swift Hybrid Powertrain

The company, at the 2023 Japan Mobility Show, showcased the new 2024 Swift with a brand-new three-cylinder petrol engine. It has been reported that this new engine has been codenamed as the Z12. Presently, the reports have stated this new engine is a lot more fuel-efficient than the outgoing 1.2-litre K-Series four-cylinder engine. The Japanese model was also equipped with a strong hybrid system which will help it in achieving around 35 kmpl. Most likely the company will not be offering this hybrid setup in India. However, some reports claim that even without the hybrid system, it will be able to offer around 30 kmpl.
