This Mercedes G-Wagen With Brabus Kit Is Actually A Mahindra Bolero [Video]

Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen is a legendary SUV from the German car manufacturer. It is an SUV that needs no introduction. Many celebrities and sports personalities around the world own this multi-crore SUV. In the past we have featured stories on our website about Indians who own this popular SUV. This SUV is so desirable that many people who cannot actually afford it have actually found ways to fulfill their wish. They have converted their SUVs using aftermarket and custom made body kits into G-Wagens. Here we have one such video from Kerala where a man has converted his Mahindra Bolero into a G-Wagen.

The video has been shared by Auto Journal India. The video shows a black colour G-Wagen with Brabus kit on it. However, if you are a car enthusiast, you would know almost immediately that something is off about the vehicle. While the vehicle does look like a G-Wagen, there are some elements that shout that it is a replica. There are couple of videos available on the internet of this SUV. The first one shows the SUV from the front. The front look of the SUV looks convincing.

We have seen several Bolero to G-Wagen conversions in the past that too from Kerala. In this case, it looks like the owner decided to go for a custom body kit for the SUV to make it look like the Brabus kit. The front-end of the SUV is completely transformed. In the first video, we see a Mercedes-Benz logo on the front grille. This has been replaced with a Brabus logo in the second one.

Modified Bolero

The front grille, bumper, headlamps, fenders and bonnet are all replaced with aftermarket or custom made parts. The owner even gave the lower part of the bumper a mesh grille. The SUV does look wide from the front, they even got the fender mounted turn indicators like G-Wagen. It is when we move to the side profile, we start seeing difference. While the front is extremely worked, the side profile will definitely remind you that it is not a G-Wagen.

The roof, windscreen, ORVMs are all from the Bolero. They have not made any changes to make it look like G-Wagen. The SUV is definitely painted in a butch black shade but that doesn’t do much. It doesn’t look as tall as the G-Wagen here and the fender flares actually meet the side steps of the SUV. This is actually not something that we see in the G-Wagen.

The alloy wheels are the other element that are different from the stock version. They are actually wider than the stock version and slightly push out of the custom fenders. As we move to the rear, you see more modifications, Just like the side profile the rear window, tailgate and the spare wheel all remain the same as Bolero. The spare wheel does get a wheel cover and the rear bumper has been customised as well. The owner has also installed a roof mounted spoiler. The tail lamps that are signature to a G-Wagen cannot be seen here. The car actually gets tail lamps from a Mahindra Thar SUV.

It is not clear if the owner has customised the interior in any manner. This SUV does look brilliant from the front, however, we cannot say the same about the rest of the vehicle. It is a decent looking modified Mahindra Bolero however it is not the best looking Bolero conversion we have seen till date.
