Mahindra Scorpio-N with Nardo Grey wrap and 22-inch wheels [Video]

Since its launch in June 2022, the Mahindra Scorpio-N has been a blockbuster SUV in the Indian automotive scenario. Even after many months since its launch, the craze for this ladder-on-frame premium midsize SUV hasn’t waned, with it still commanding hefty waiting periods. Among all the color options offered for the Scorpio-N, black has remained the most popular, matching the SUV’s brute persona. However, the owner of one such black Scorpio-N has customized his SUV with a Nardo Grey wrap job, along with larger 22-inch alloy wheels.

A video from the YouTube channel “King Indian” showcases a Mahindra Scorpio-N 4XPLOR diesel-automatic SUV finished in a Nardo Grey wrap job. Originally painted black, the Nardo Grey wrap job on this Mahindra Scorpio-N is the first of its kind in the country. Along with a Nardo Grey wrap covering the body panels, the SUV also features contrasting red stripes and the number “69” imprinted on the bonnet of the Scorpio-N.

This customized Mahindra Scorpio-N with a Nardo Grey wrap job also bears Goat insignias on the side door panels as an additional attention-grabbing element. The front chrome grille, which originally had chrome surrounds and a chrome finish for the vertical slats within it, has also been given an all-black treatment with a satin black wrap job over the chrome elements.

Another prominent highlight of this Nardo Grey Mahindra Scorpio-N is the complete set of red-colored, multi-spoke 22-inch alloy wheels, wrapped with lower-profile tires. The Scorpio-N 4XPLOR comes with 18-inch alloys as factory fitments. However, to accommodate these 22-inch alloy wheels, the modifier has altered the spacers and wheel wells of the Scorpio-N. While the color of these alloy wheels is subjective, they do give a heightened stance to the already-tall Scorpio-N.

More than Rs 5 lakh worth of modifications

According to the owner of this customized Mahindra Scorpio-N, the Nardo Grey wrap job, along with satin grey and red highlights, cost him Rs 55,000. In addition, the complete set of alloys and tires, along with modifications to the wheel wells and spacers, cost him Rs 5 lakh in total.

Before making such modifications, one should be aware of a few things, avoiding which can land the vehicle owner in trouble. In India, changing the original paint scheme of a vehicle requires changes to the registration certificate of the car, and if avoided, it is treated as a criminal offense. However, people use wrap jobs for temporary satisfaction and distinction, which can be removed as and when desired.

Also, making changes to the original combination of wheels and tires can negatively affect the overall driving dynamics, performance, and even fuel efficiency, all of which are compromised. Car manufacturers advise sticking to a particular combination for a reason, as extensive research and development are carried out for this combination. Upsizing or downsizing wheels and tires can have a negative impact on the vehicle’s driving characteristics, reducing its functionality in the long run.
