In a recent update, MG Motor India has once again adjusted the prices of its popular Hector and Hector SUV models, marking an increase by up to Rs. 40,000. This follows a price reduction in September, making it a noteworthy fluctuation in a short span. The starting ex-showroom price for the MG Hector now stands at Rs. 15 lakh.

The MG Hector is offered in six distinct variants: Style, Shine, Smart, Smart Pro, Sharp Pro, and Savvy Pro, encompassing both petrol and diesel powertrains. The revised prices for each variant are as follows:

• Style Petrol: Rs. 27,000
• Shine Petrol: Rs. 31,000
• Smart Petrol: Rs. 35,000
• Smart Pro Petrol: Rs. 35,000
• Sharp Pro Petrol: Rs. 35,000
• Savvy Pro Petrol: Rs. 27,000
• Shine Diesel: Rs. 31,000
• Smart Diesel: Rs. 30,000
• Smart Pro Diesel: Rs. 40,000
• Sharp Pro Diesel: Rs. 40,000

The MG Hector offers a choice between two BS6-compliant powertrains—a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine and a 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine. The petrol variant comes with a six-speed manual and a CVT unit, while the diesel variant is exclusively available with a manual gearbox. The Hector is a mid-sized SUV that’s sold with two seating layouts: 5 seats and 6 seats. The SUV takes on the likes of the Tata Harrier, Hyundai Alcazar and Mahindra XUV700.

Key selling points of the Hector are its imposing external design that turns heads, and the high quality, well put together interiors. The Hector is loaded with creature comforts, and this is another big factor that attracts SUV buyers towards it. Robustly built, the MG Hector is a global product with Chinese origins. In China, it’s sold as the Wuling Almaz. It’s also sold in many other South East Asian countries including Indonesia.
