India-bound Next-Generation Maruti Suzuki Swift In A Detailed Walkaround Video

The Maruti Suzuki Swift is probably one of the most awaited launches from Maruti this year. The car has already been launched in Japan, and Suzuki would soon start selling it in other markets. We know that Suzuki is bringing the next-generation Swift to India this year, and we expect it to be slightly different from the international models. We have started seeing several videos of the next-generation Swift online, and here we have one where the next-gen Swift is shown in a detailed walkaround video.

The video has been shared by Autogefühl on their YouTube channel. In this video, the presenter talks about the car’s design features and then the interiors and engine options. Starting with the exterior, the next-generation Swift comes with a design that has evolved from the previous generation model currently on sale in India. The newer version looks a lot sleeker and sportier than the outgoing model. The car comes with edgy-looking headlamps with dual-function projector lights.

Coming to the side profile, the car gets the same design as the current version. The three-door design of the car has been revised, and it now comes with door handles placed on the door instead of the C-pillar. The car also comes with blacked-out pillars, giving it a floating-type roof design. The rear of the next-gen Swift is also an evolution of the current design. Once again, the car gets a sleeker-looking design and clear lens tail lamps with LED lights.

Next-gen Swift

In terms of dimensions, the new Swift is slightly longer than the current version, and it would also offer more space inside. The video then talks about the engine on the new Swift. The car gets a brand-new 1.2-liter, naturally aspirated, three-cylinder petrol engine. This engine is tuned for both performance and fuel efficiency. A mild hybrid version of the Swift is also available in the Japanese market. The engine is available with both a manual and CVT gearbox internationally. The manual version also offers an AWD version. The AWD system in the Swift automatically engages when there is less traction. The Indian version of the hatchback is not expected to get the same engine option. The Indian version of the Swift would get 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT gearbox options.

There are reports that Swift will be offered with a strong hybrid system, and we’ll have to wait and watch to see if it comes with the car or not. Suzuki is also offering ADAS features like Dual Sensor Brake Support II (DSBS II), Lane Keep Assist (LKA), Driver Monitoring System (DMS), Lane Departure Prevention (LDP), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR), Blind Spot Monitor (BSM), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), and eCall. Like most Suzuki cars in India and abroad, the new Swift also comes with Suzuki’s connected car features.

Other than this, the Swift comes with completely redesigned interiors. It now boasts a layered dashboard design with a 9-inch floating-type touchscreen infotainment system in the center. The Suzuki Swift also comes equipped with automatic climate control, fabric seat covers, a multi-function steering wheel, a color MID, ventilated seats, and other features.
