Just a few months ago, a video of Baba Ramdev, the popular yoga teacher and mega entrepreneur, driving a brand-new Land Rover Defender 130, was shared online. The video showed Baba Ramdev driving his new SUV around his compound in Uttarakhand. Well, at the time, it was speculated that he himself purchased this new SUV; however, it has been stated that this is not the case. It has been reported that this Rs 1.3 crore Defender 130 has been gifted to him by the CFA of Baba Ramdev’s FMCG brand, Patanjali.
In a new video shared on Instagram by Auto.waar, it has been stated that the Patanjali CFA, Divyanshu Kesarwani, has gifted this expensive SUV to Baba Ramdev. The caption of the video shared online stated, “This Defender 130 is Not Bought by Swami Ramdev ji, It was gifted by Divyanshu Kesarwani, CFA Of Patanjali Group in UP East and Central Region, gifted LAND ROVER DEFENDER 130 to Swami ji Baba Ramdev.”
The video shows Baba Ramdev checking out his new Land Rover Defender 130 from the inside and outside. Further in the video, he was also seen driving the SUV inside his Patanjali compound in Uttarakhand. It has also been reported that this is the first-ever Land Rover Defender 130 to be delivered in the state of Uttarakhand. Baba Ramdev has received this generous gift in the shade of Sedona Red color. This color is an exclusive color option for the Defender 130 and does not come available with the Defender 90 and 110.

Baba Ramdev and his new Defender 130
As mentioned, this particular longer wheelbase variant of the Land Rover Defender 130 starts at Rs 1.30 crore and goes up to Rs 1.41 crore. When the first video of this SUV being driven by Baba Ramdev was shared, a lot of people wondered how Baba Ramdev, as a yoga teacher, purchased it. Now it has been cleared that the Patanjali CFA has gifted this SUV to him.
For those who are unaware, the Patanjali group, the Rs 10,000 crore revenue-generating FMCG firm whose face is Baba Ramdev, is not owned by him. Instead, its 96 percent stakeholder is Balkrishna, Baba Ramdev’s close friend and aide whom he met during his time in gurukula when Baba Ramdev was young. Balkrishna himself drives around in a Land Rover Range Rover.
Land Rover Defender 130
The Land Rover Defender 130 is the newest addition to the Defender lineup, and it is the longest model of them all. The Defender 130, from the outside and inside, looks exactly like the other Defender models and even boasts the same wheelbase as the 110 model. However, the main difference is in the overall length of the SUV, which measures 340mm more than the standard 110 model. This additional length has contributed to increased space in the middle row and the addition of a third row in the rear.
The model comes available with two engine options. The first is a 3.0-litre petrol engine (P400) that produces a maximum power of 394 bhp and 550 Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the other option for this massive SUV is a 3.0-litre diesel engine (D300) that delivers 296 BHP and 600 Nm of torque. Both engines come paired with mild-hybrid technology and a four-wheel-drive system.
