Range Rover Super Luxury SUV Prices Slashed By A Whopping Rs. 56 Lakh In India: Details

The British luxury SUV manufacturer Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has made a huge announcement. It has announced that popular new-generation Range Rover models will now be locally assembled in India. The list of models includes the flagship Range Rover and Range Rover Sport SUVs. The bigger good news is that the made-in-India Range Rover models will be significantly cheaper than the CBU units it was selling before. For some variants, the prices have even dropped by Rs 56 lakh.

New locally assembled Range Rover reduced pricing

According to Jaguar Land Rover, India has become the first country outside the UK to locally produce these SUVs. As stated, the result of this move is that the pricing for these luxury SUVs has been reduced by an extensive amount. The Range Rover 3.0-litre diesel HSE LWB, which previously used to cost Rs 2.8 crore, is now available at Rs 2.36 crore. This means that it has now become cheaper by Rs 44 lakh.

Apart from this, the Range Rover 3.0-litre petrol Autobiography LWB will now cost Rs 2.60 crore. It used to be priced at Rs 3.16 crore. There is a price reduction of Rs 56 lakh. Meanwhile, the Range Rover Sport 3.0-litre diesel Dynamic SE is now priced at Rs 1.40 crore. There is a reduction of Rs 29 lakh.

Where are the new Range Rovers getting assembled in India?

The India-assembled Range Rovers will be built in the Pune facility. This plant will be assembling the CKD (Completely Knocked Down) Range Rovers. At present, this plant already assembles models like the Velar, Evoque, Jaguar F-Pace, and Discovery Sport. Another added benefit of these Range Rover models being assembled in India is shorter waiting periods.

Range Rover Sales in India

As we all know, the Range Rover is one of the favorites among Bollywood stars, sports personalities, and wealthy businessmen. The company managed to sell 394 units in FY2024. The locally assembled Range Rover is offered in two engine options.

The first is a 3.0-litre six-cylinder petrol engine producing 392 bhp and 550 Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the other is a 3.0-litre six-cylinder diesel engine. This engine makes 345 bhp and 700 Nm of torque. It has to be noted that the short wheelbase (SWB) versions and the 4.4-litre V8 variants will continue to be imported.

Range Rover House in Alibaug

The company, in order to provide a more luxurious experience to its customers, has inaugurated the ‘Range Rover House’ in Alibaug, Maharashtra. This exclusive facility is designed to provide a modern and luxurious environment for the buyers of these SUVs. This new experience center will showcase some of the first locally produced Range Rover and Range Rover Sport SUVs.
