When it comes to one of the longest-standing models on sale in the Indian automotive market, it is the Maruti Suzuki Wagon R. This tall boy hatchback was first launched in India back in December of 1999. Ever since, the company has been upgrading and selling this hatchback, making it one of the most successful cars in the country. Recently, we came across a few rare television commercials (TVCs) of this hatchback, and we thought that these deserve a watch.

The video, which is a combination of TVCs from generations of the ever-popular Wagon R, has been shared on YouTube by Mangalam Semwal on their channel. It starts off with the first TVC of the 1999 Maruti Suzuki Wagon R finished in a shade of black.

In this commercial, a man and a woman were seen sitting at a construction site, after which they were shown leaving the site in the 1999 Wagon R. What happens after this is a few dogs start chasing the vehicle, and the driver is maneuvering it through the jungle and hilly area. He finally stops and pets his dogs and takes them with him in his car.

Next up, the video shows the TVC of the 2009 Wagon R starring the popular Bollywood actor R. Madhavan. In this commercial, he is seen going through a journey of starting a business of growing and selling apples. He is first shown eating an apple and then getting an idea of growing his own apples.

After this, he is shown going through the process of loan application, buying his land, and setting up his business. In all of the clips, a 2009 red-colored Maruti Suzuki Wagon R was seen accompanying him. He finally gives credit for his business to this hatchback.

Following this, another TVC of a Wagon R from the same generation has also been added to the video. In this TVC, a reporter and his cameraman were seen devising a plan to get an interview from Nimrat Kaur, who was shown getting out of a club. After devising the plan, the reporter offers the actress a way out and then, after outsmarting other paparazzi, he takes the actress to a port. He then takes her interview and in the meantime, shows the agile nature of the Wagon R hatchback.

After this, the video shows the second-generation model, which was launched back in 2010. This model was named the blue-eyed boy, and this commercial also featured the “3-Idiots” fame actor R. Madhavan. Following this, there is another commercial of the same second-generation model of the Wagon R, and this also includes R. Madhavan. However, this time he was accompanied by Raghu Ram and Rajeev Lakshman. All three actors were seen comparing the Wagon R with the different states of India, and in the end, it shows the smartness of R. Madhavan and the Wagon R hatchback.

Finally, the video shows the commercial of the 2019 Maruti Suzuki Wagon R, which is currently the outgoing generation of the model. The video shows this tallboy hatchback being driven around the mountain roads with mesmerizing music in the background. The TVC then states that the new model now comes equipped with a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. This is the same engine that is used in a lot of other Maruti Suzuki models.

Apart from this YouTube video, which shows a combination of multiple TVCs, another TVC has been shared on Reddit. This TVC shows a first-generation Maruti Suzuki Wagon R. It starts off with a man bringing ice cream to the family members sitting inside the car. He then sees a few men robbing and escaping a bank in a Tata Estate vehicle. After this, he is then shown getting inside his car and aggressively driving it to catch the robbers. After driving the car through the city, he finally managed to catch them.
