In September 2023, MG reduced the prices of the Hector range, likely due to the festive season and heightened competition from rivals like Tata Harrier, Tata Safari, and Mahindra XUV700. However, despite the arrival of the heavily updated versions of the Harrier and Safari, which resulted in price increases, MG’s decision to raise the prices of the Hector and Hector Plus indicates that both SUVs continue to enjoy strong demand.

Both the MG Hector and MG Hector Plus offer two powertrain options: a 1.5-liter 143 PS turbocharged petrol engine and a 2.0-liter 170 PS diesel engine. Both engine options come with a 6-speed manual transmission as standard, with the petrol engine also available with a CVT as an option.

The new cabin of the MG Hector continued to be offered in a dual-tone black and beige leather upholstery but got revised designs for the multi-functional steering wheel and the TFT instrument console. Another prominent feature that made its way into the revised MG Hector was a full suite of Level-2 advanced driving assistance systems (ADAS), which had made its debut in the MG Astor. This whole new package added a range of autonomous driving assistance features like adaptive cruise control, automatic high beam, blind spot monitoring system, lane change assist, lane keep assist, and more.

Took the center stage of the cabin was the new 14-inch portrait-style touchscreen infotainment system, which was claimed to be the largest ever in a production car sold in India. As before, that new touchscreen also housed the climate control and i-Smart in-car connectivity features.
