Tourist sits on roof of moving Maruti Brezza SUV in Goa: Cops arrest him after video goes viral

We have come across several videos in the past where tourists were seen misbehaving on the streets of Goa. There are even videos where people are driving on the beaches and getting stuck in the sand. We have witnessed several incidents where the police have taken action against individuals who got carried away and ended up being a nuisance. Here, we have an incident from Goa where a tourist from Telangana was seen sitting on the roof of a moving SUV in Goa’s Mapusa region.

The video has been shared by Prudent Media on its Facebook page. In this video, we can see a Maruti Suzuki Brezza with Telangana registration. The SUV is moving across a bridge, and a person is sitting on the roof of the SUV. The individual on top is enjoying the view below the bridge, facing backward while the car is moving forward. Hazard lamps were turned on, and the SUV was being driven slowly. The video was recorded by someone who was driving behind the Brezza on the same bridge.

This is not the first time we have come across a video like this on the internet. The Maruti Brezza seen here does not come with a sunroof from the factory. This was probably the reason why he decided to lie down on the roof of the SUV and enjoy the view. There are a lot of things that could go wrong here. The chances of him falling from the roof of the SUV are pretty high. If the driver decides to accelerate suddenly, the person sitting on the roof could fall down as there is nothing to hold on to. The roof rail on the Brezza might not offer enough grip.

The video went viral on the internet, and many people shared their opinions about this behavior. One of them wrote, “Mr. Sawant, can you stop domestic tourists from coming to Goa if they do this?” Even the local police came across the viral video and decided to take action against the offender. They traced the owner and the person sitting on the SUV and filed a case against them. The cops even made an arrest in this case.

Further, Mapusa police identified the accused as Mr. Sanadoboina Mahesh, son of Rajaiah, resident of Siddipet, Telangana, and arrested him under sections 279, 336 IPC, Sec 192 of M.V. Act. The vehicle of make Maruti Brezza and registration No. TS-36-F-9369 were also taken into custody. The accused is booked for driving in a rash, negligent manner and endangering human life by violating permit rules. This is not the first time we have seen such behavior from tourists in Goa. A few months ago, we came across a video where a tourist on a rented Mahindra Thar destroyed a paddy field.

In another incident, a foreign tourist couple was seen performing stunts in a moving car on the streets of Goa. In that incident, a foreigner was seen sitting on the roof of a Maruti WagonR, and another girl was sitting out of the rear window of the WagonR. Doing such stunts on public roads is an offense, and that is why the police took action against the offender on Vitara Brezza in this case. The driver and the person sitting on the roof were putting their lives and the lives of other road users at risk.
