Skoda Epiq All-Electric Sub-Compact SUV Unveiled: Details Inside

Czech carmaker Škoda has unveiled the concept version of its all-new entry-level electric SUV. This new model will be called the Skoda Epiq. Škoda has announced that the electric SUV will be launched globally in 2025. Along with the announcement, the company has also released video and images of this rendered SUV. This new SUV is the second of the six electric cars coming from Škoda Auto.

Details of the Škoda Epiq all-electric SUV

The Škoda Epiq has been unveiled as the model that will mark the entry of the Czech automaker in the sub-compact EV SUV segment. This segment in India, along with other emerging markets, is gaining a lot of popularity.

This new sub-compact electric SUV from Skoda will boast a very sleek “Modern Solid” design language. According to the company, it will measure 4.1 meters in length. The new Epiq EV will be a five-seater SUV and boast an impressive luggage capacity of up to 490 liters.

One of the most enticing aspects of the Epiq is its affordability, said Škoda Auto. The company has announced that it will be launched starting at around 25,000 euros or approximately Rs 22.5 lakh.

At the moment, the company has not unveiled the details about its powertrain. However, reports have stated that it will offer a range of around 400 km. The exact information about the battery packs, electric motors, and other mechanicals will be released in the coming months.

Where will it be made?

As per Škoda Auto, the production of the Škoda Epiq will take place in Pamplona, Spain. This new electric SUV will be a part of a joint development and production project of Volkswagen’s Brand Group Core representatives. The brands in this group include Škoda, Cupra, and Volkswagen.

Škoda Epiq: Design details

Coming to the design details of the Škoda Epiq, as mentioned, this new SUV has been designed with the new “Modern Solid” design language of the brand. The main highlight at the front of this SUV is the closed-off grille with sleek Y-shaped LED headlights and DRLs.

It gets a new Škoda logo at the front and a very clean aesthetic overall. The lower front bumper has also been kept simple and gets 8 rectangular slats to cool the battery pack. On the side profile, we can observe thick claddings on the wheel arches and massive closed-off alloy wheels.

While on the rear, we can note the same 8 rectangular slats and overall clean design. Like the front, the rear also gets Y-shaped LED taillights.

Coming to the interiors, the main highlight will be a massive touchscreen infotainment screen. Just below it will be the air conditioning vents and climate control buttons. There is also a phone holder which most likely will get a wireless charging pad.

The car will also get a new two-spoke steering wheel and a digital instrument gauge cluster. Like the exterior, the overall interior has also been kept very clean and modern. It looks  spacious and gets beautiful touches such as aluminum inserts and ambient lighting.
