Tata Punch rolls over but saved passengers: Shows off its 5 Star safety rating in the real world

In a short period, the Tata Punch has become one of the most popular and highest selling cars in the Indian car market. Apart from its unique styling and stance, another aspect that is attracting customers towards the Tata Punch is its promising safety levels, with a coveted 5-star rating in Global NCAP crash tests. Now, a major accident involving a Tata Punch shows that the 5-star rating is not a claim only on papers, but in the real world as well.

A major accident of a Tata Punch has been reported in a YouTube video uploaded by the channel of “Nikhil Rana”. In the video, it is shown that a Tata Punch has met with an accident in Gujarat. According to the witnesses, the Tata Punch was being driven at a very high speed of 120 kph, before it collided with a divider on a highway in Gujarat. While the exact reason behind the collision is not yet known, it is believed that the Punch overturned a couple of times, before it ended up in an upside-down state.

The good news is that all the five passengers, including the driver, who were travelling while this accident took place have escaped with minor bruises and no major injuries. In the video, we can see that the Punch is badly damaged from all sides. Such was the impact, that even one of the two rear tyres flew off the assembly. However, the frame has absorbed the devastating impact very effectively.

The Tata Punch involved in this accident seems to be the top-spec Creative variant, as the dual-tone colour option of Tornado Blue with a white roof is available only in this range-topping variant. However, it is not clear that whether it is the manual or the AMT variant. The Creative variant of the Tata Punch comes well-equipped with safety features like dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX mounts for child seats, brake sway control, reverse parking sensors and a rear camera. The AMT variant also comes with a traction pro feature.
