Toyota Innova Hycross GX Limited Edition launched: Gets minor cosmetic upgrades [Video]

Currently, the most popular premium MPV in India is the Toyota Innova Hycross. The model has some of the highest waiting periods in India, and it seems like its popularity is only increasing with time. Now, in order to capitalize on this rising demand, the company has launched a new limited edition model of its most popular variant. Toyota has launched the new Innova Hycross GX Limited edition with a few exterior and interior upgrades. Recently, a video showing all of these upgrades has been shared online.

The video of the in-depth walkaround of this newest Innova Hycross GX Limited Edition has been shared on YouTube by Bikers Boy Telugu Lo on their channel. The presenter in the video highlights all of the updates that the company has given to the standard Innova Hycross GX variant to make it a Limited Edition model. For those unaware, the GX trim of the Innova Hycross is currently one of the most popular and value-for-money variants of this premium MPV.

Exterior upgrades

Starting off with the changes on the exterior of the new limited edition model, Toyota has provided the new GX Limited Edition with a few cosmetic upgrades on the outside. The first thing it has added is a new brushed chrome jewel finish on the front grille of the otherwise plain black grille of the GX variant. Apart from this, the company has also provided a new sportier-looking skid plate on the front as well as at the rear. Apart from these, not much has been changed on the exterior.

Interior updates

Moving on to the interior, this is where Toyota has changed a lot more things to add to the luxury appeal of this very popular variant. First of all, the company has changed the simple Black finishes of the dashboard and door trims with Chestnut-colored soft-touch trims seen on the more expensive variants of this premium MPV. Apart from this, it also gets ivory piping on the dashboard.

Other changes on the interior include the new Chestnut-colored seat covers. These are the same fabric upholstery seats seen in the more expensive VX trim of the Innova Hycross. Lastly, the company has also provided the model with brown-colored wood-like trims on the window control panels to make it look a lot more premium.

Pricing difference

With the addition of these new premium materials and exterior upgrades, there is also a price bump for the new Toyota Innova Hycross GX Limited Edition model. The company has priced this model at a premium of Rs 40,000 (ex-showroom). On-road pricing for the limited edition models has increased by around Rs 60,000 to Rs 70,000.

The new Innova Hycross GX Limited Edition model will be available in a total of four different trims, namely GX Limited Edition 7-seater, GX Limited Edition 7-seater platinum white, GX Limited Edition 8-seater, and lastly, the GX Limited Edition 8-seater platinum white. Powertrain updates

Apart from the above-mentioned changes, no alterations have been made to the powertrain side of things on this MPV. The GX and the lower G variant of the Innova Hycross both come equipped with a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that makes a total of 172 bhp and 209 Nm of torque. On the other hand, the more expensive variants of the MPV come with a hybrid powertrain that utilizes the same 2.0-litre petrol engine with the 5th generation TGNA hybrid system. With its hybrid setup, the Innova Hycross makes 183 bhp and 188 Nm of torque. Both of the engines come equipped with 10-speed CVT transmission and there is no manual transmission available with this MPV.
