Toyota Innova HyCross prices increased in the New Year 2024

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has ushered in the New Year with a price adjustment across its lineup, impacting models like Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Innova Crysta, and notably, the Innova Hycross. Effective from the beginning of January 2024, the prices of Toyota vehicles have seen an increase of up to Rs. 42,000 (ex-showroom).

The spotlight falls on the Innova Hycross, with hybrid variants experiencing a more substantial hike compared to the non-hybrid base GX variants. This move aims to balance the scales for prospective buyers eyeing the Hycross model.

In India, the Innova brand has long been associated with luxury and premium segments. Generally, potential buyers of the Innova Hycross are unlikely to be significantly deterred by a modest price increase of around Rs. 50,000. However, it’s worth noting that the Innova is a preferred choice among taxi operators in India, particularly the base G trim (commercial) and GX trim. Toyota has taken steps to minimize the impact on these segments by implementing a conservative price hike strategy.

The base GX trim, favored by fleet owners, witnesses a relatively modest increase of Rs. 10,000. It’s important to highlight that Toyota has discontinued the Limited Edition version based on the GX trim, streamlining the trim hierarchy to core levels – GX, VX, VX (O), ZX, and the top-of-the-line ZX (O). Moving beyond the base-spec GX trim, all variants across different trim levels face a uniform price increment of Rs. 42,000. This includes both 7-seater and 8-seater variants of VX, VX (O), ZX, and ZX (O) trim levels. Notably, all these variants feature a robust strong hybrid powertrain (petrol + electric) paired with an e-CVT transmission.

Post the recent price revision, the Toyota Innova Hycross’s price now starts at Rs. 19.77 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base model GX 7S with a 2.0 non-hybrid engine and a CVT. This marks a slight increase from the pre-hike price of Rs. 19.67 lakh (ex-showroom) in December 2023.

For the strong hybrid powertrain-equipped variants, the VX trim now comes at Rs. 25.72 lakh (ex-showroom), up from Rs. 25.3 lakh (ex-showroom) in December 2023. The top-of-the-line ZX (O) trim in the 8-seater variant, post the price hike, is now priced at Rs. 30.68 lakh (ex-showroom), compared to the previous Rs. 30.26 lakh (ex-showroom).

Importantly, this price adjustment doesn’t bring any additional features, with specifications and performance metrics remaining consistent. As Toyota takes this stride to align its pricing strategy with market dynamics, the Innova Hycross continues to be a compelling choice in the SUV segment, offering a blend of efficiency, performance, and versatility.
