6 New Skoda Cars & SUVs Launching Soon

Skoda is all set to make a significant move in the Indian market with the launch of six new passenger vehicles within the next 12 months. Among these, the highlight is the upcoming made-in-India compact SUV. Let’s take a quick look at what’s coming:

Enyaq Electric SUV

The Enyaq will be Skoda’s first electric car in India. It is, in fact, Skoda’s version of the Volkswagen ID4, which will also be launched here soon. The Enyaq has been spotted testing on our roads several times and was first showcased at the Bharat Mobility Expo recently.

Enyaq will be sold as a CBU, and that will reflect in its pricing too. The electric SUV from Skoda is expected to bring the Enyaq iV 80x variant, which uses a 77kW battery pack that powers two motors – one at the front and the other at the rear. The electric SUV will generate around 265 bhp and will have a claimed range of 513 km with fully charged batteries.

Kwiq Sub-4 Meter Compact SUV

Skoda is gearing up to introduce a sub-four-meter compact SUV in March 2025. This SUV, which could be named Kwiq, Kariq, Kyroq, Kymaq, or Kylaq, will be based on the MQB A0 IN platform, similar to the Kushaq and Slavia.

It will be powered by a 1.0L turbo petrol engine, available with manual or automatic transmission. This compact SUV will compete against popular models such as Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, and Kia Sonet.

Kushaq Facelift

Skoda Kushaq is the brand’s current hot seller. The facelifted version of the SUV is expected to be launched early next year. Changes such as some interior and exterior enhancements, along with the addition of new features such as a 360-degree camera and Level 2 ADAS, are anticipated. The 1 liter and 1.5 liter turbo petrol engines, manual and automatic gearboxes will be carried over.

Slavia Facelift

Similar to the Kushaq, it will hit the Indian market early next year. Similar changes are expected, including Level 2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera system, and some cosmetic changes Mechanically, the Slavia Facelift will be unchanged, just like its compact SUV sibling – the Kushaq.

Next-Gen Kodiaq

There are strong indications that the new generation Kodiaq could be introduced within the next 12 months. Built on the MQB Evo platform, this SUV will come with significant improvements both inside and out. It is expected to retain the 2.0L turbo petrol engine, delivering 190 PS and 320 Nm of torque. However, Skoda has not confirmed about the new-gen Kodiaq.

All New Octavia

Skoda’s plan to bring back the Octavia is met with anticipation, catering to its 70,000 loyal customers in India. The launch timeline of the sedan has not been disclosed, but Skoda assures a long life for the Octavia until 2034, with periodic updates. Similar to the Superb, it will be available via the CBU route initially, with local assembly starting at a later stage. Skoda Octavia operates in the D-Segment, which currently has no cars.

Specific details are unavailable but its launch is expected sometime in 2025. Skoda’s aggressive strategy indicates its commitment to offering a diverse and compelling lineup to Indian consumers, catering to various segments and preferences. With a blend of cutting-edge technology, modern design, and robust performance, these upcoming models aim to reinforce Skoda’s position as a key player in the Indian automotive market.
