Volkswagen to offer Virtus GT Edge variant in a new Matte Grey color

The German automotive giant Volkswagen has discreetly commenced reservations for a brand-new color for its Virtus GT Edge variant. The company, on its official website, has started taking bookings for the Virtus GT Edge finished in a brand-new color of Carbon Steel Grey Matte. The official website at the moment does not show the price of this new colored variant; however, the Virtus GT Deep Black Pearl is offered at a starting price of Rs 17.09 lakh. The company will most likely commence deliveries of this new colored model during the festive season.

In terms of changes on the new Virtus GT Edge variant finished in Carbon Steel Grey Matte, there will not be as many differences. The new-colored sedan will still come equipped just like the Deep Black Pearl-colored model. Over the standard Virtus GT, the GT Edge variants just get some slight aesthetic changes on the exterior and interior and an addition of a manual transmission.

On the outside, the new Virtus GT Edge matte grey will come equipped with red brake calipers and matte-finished paint to add to the sporty aesthetics of the car. Next up on the interior, it will come equipped with new leatherette combination seat upholstery with wild cherry red stitching. The GT Edge variants also get aluminum pedals and laser red ambient lighting on the interior of the car.

The company, back in June of this year, launched the GT Edge Limited Collection for the Virtus and Taigun GT, a range of high-performance vehicles available in new colors and transmission options. This collection includes the Virtus GT Plus DSG and GT Plus manual models, both featuring a stunning Deep Black Pearl exterior body color. Additionally, the Taigun GT Plus DSG and GT Plus manual models are available in the striking Deep Black Pearl and Carbon Steel Grey Matte finish exterior body colors. The Volkswagen Taigun and Virtus are currently being offered by the company with a choice between two petrol engines. The first option is the 1.0-liter TSI petrol engine. This powerplant delivers a maximum of 115 PS of power and 175 Nm of torque. This engine can be paired with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed torque converter. The other petrol engine option offered by the company is the 1.5-liter TSI petrol engine. This high-performance engine is capable of generating 150 PS of power and 250 Nm of torque. It comes available with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed DSG gearbox.

In terms of pricing, as mentioned, the Virtus GT Edge variant finished in Dark Pearl Black color option is priced at Rs 17.09 lakh for the manual transmission model. On the other hand, the GT Edge Plus model with DSG transmission is priced at Rs 18.76 lakh. Most likely, the pricing for the new Carbon Steel Grey Matte color will command a premium of Rs 20,000, just like it does in the Taigun range of GT Edge models.
