1. BMW 7 Series (E23)

The original Big BMW saloon, launched in 1977. It featured a timeless design by Paul Bracq and introduced the 'shark nose' era. The range-topping 745i boasted impressive performance, reaching speeds of up to 141mph. Over 270,000 units were produced during its nine-year lifespan.

2. BMW 7 Series (E32)

BMW hit its stride with the E32 generation. This iteration featured an evolution of kidney grilles and headlights. It introduced V8 and V12 engines, with the remarkable performance of the 750i. Approximately 310,000 units were sold from 1986 to 1994.

3. BMW 7 Series (E38)

The E38 is considered a stone-cold BMW classic. It introduced diesel engine options and featured widened kidney grilles. Innovative technical highlights were also present. Around 327,000 units were sold between 1994 and 2001.

4. BMW 7 Series (E65)

Designed under the direction of Chris Bangle, the E65 featured revolutionary design elements. It was the first BMW to introduce iDrive technology. Powerful engine options, including the 760i, were available. Approximately 343,000 units were sold from 2001 to 2008.

5. BMW 7 Series (F01)

Designed by Karim Habib, the F01 featured a more conventional design compared to its predecessor. It introduced a hybrid powertrain option and featured a range-topper with a twin-turbo V12 engine. Active production occurred between 2008 and 2015.

6. BMW 7 Series (G11)

The G11 era introduced the massive grille design. It featured a composite body construction and new engine options, including a hybrid variant. A facelift in 2019 brought the X7-inspired grille. Production started in 2015.

7. BMW 7 Series (2022-)
